What We Do

Gibraltar has fabricated, installed, and performed on over 30 site segments of border fence, which consists of over 150+ miles of pedestrian and vehicle barrier projects along the United States (U.S.)/Mexico Border in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Customs Border Patrol (CBP) Secure Border Initiative Tactical Infrastructure Program in gaining effective control of our nation’s southern border. Gibraltar’s border experience is proven in meeting or beating project schedule requirements with an exceptional quality and safety record.
Our border solutions are proven and effective tools in slowing, redirecting and deterring illegal entries in areas where DHS CBP personnel and technologies alone are insufficient. Gibraltar works as general contractor, but specializes in both fabricator and installer.
Facility
In the early border contracts (2007-2010), Gibraltar set up six fabrication yards in Calexico, CA; El Centro, CA; Tucson, AZ; El Paso, TX; San Benito, TX and Weslaco, TX.
Gibraltar operates a 300 acre controlled access fabrication facility with over 170,000 square feet building and over 150 acres of all-weather lay down yard. This facility is an AISC Certified facility and operates under a strict Quality Management system. With the existing rail spur on site, this allows for easily receiving large orders of raw materials and also loading finished goods for shipping, when necessary.
Gibraltar is capable of fabricating 2 miles per day (1 mile per shift – 660 panels per mile). Gibraltar has the ability to sand blast and paint 300 panels per day. Our location in Central Texas is ideal for receiving steel materials from mills in the eastern United States and distributing panels to the entire southern US border, with minimal inefficiencies or duplicating of freight costs.
