Gibraltar is a leading provider of high tension cable barriers designed to contain and redirect errant vehicles from road hazards. Gibraltar offers both a Test Level 3 (TL-3) and Test Level 4 (TL-4) cable barrier accepted by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) NCHRP Report 350.
Full-scale vehicle crash/impact testing has been completed to evaluate the safety performance of our TL-3, TL-4 and TL-4 (4 Cable) longitudinal cable barrier. All testing procedures were conducted as prescribed by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 350, Recommended Procedures for the Safety Performance Evaluation of Highway Features. The appraisal factors for evaluating crash test performance are structural adequacy, occupant risk and after-collision vehicle trajectory. A test level is defined by impact conditions (speed, approach angle and vehicle type).
